Aston Villa Football Club birthplace and the New Testament Church of God

Through research we have found there have been links between churches and the national game of football. One connection that has been found is that of Aston Villa Football club and the New Testament Church of God, Handsworth , Birmingham, England.

The site of New Testament Church of God (NTCG) Handsworth, Birmingham, England, a Black Majority Church, is the birthplace of Aston Villa Football Club.

On 12th December 2010, an event was held to celebrate the 1st anniversary of the opening of the new church complex. The unveiling of the above plaque on Lozells Road commemorated the birthplace of Aston Villa Football Club.

The plaque donated by Kingsway Project was unveiled by Mr. Lee Preece, Football Operations/Projects Manager, Aston Villa Football Club.
